Before I can finally start develop my project, I need to figure out what is the best solution to capture motion capture data, detect the data I need to compare the movement and the engagement/entrainment of the dancers and render out their avatar.
XBOX Kinect v2 is STILL one of the best sensors to achieve this. However, its limits are overwhelming. In terms of hardware, Kinect adapters for Windows are almost impossible to find and software limitations are even bigger. It is often clunky and unrealiable.
In this video, I hacked the Kinect so that I only needed a simple 12v power supplier and a USB 3.0 cable, instead of a USB type B cable.
